Role Overview

The Payments Technology Manager will take ownership of the bank’s mission-critical payment processing systems, with a primary emphasis on instant payment solutions. This position plays a central role in guiding platform development, migration, and rollout activities while ensuring stability, compliance, and high operational performance. The role involves close coordination with internal stakeholders, technology teams, and external vendors to enable a smooth transition to modern payment platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Payment Platform Transition

• Manage setup, readiness checks, and validation across UAT, pre-production, and production environments.

• Create detailed migration strategies, schedules, and fallback plans.

• Ensure platform preparedness through rehearsal runs, data obfuscation, and validation exercises.

Functional and Technical Leadership

• Direct the mapping and migration of end-to-end payment workflows.

• Work with technology teams to configure Oracle Banking Platform components aligned with institutional requirements.

• Assess system customizations for regulatory alignment and confirm technical specifications from legacy platforms.

Stakeholder and Team Coordination

• Partner with business units, operations, and compliance teams to capture and refine requirements.

• Serve as the main point of contact for all payment migration–related activities and queries.

• Lead UAT strategy, execution, and support regional or country-specific implementation sessions.

Required Knowledge and Experience

• Payments Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of instant payment frameworks, UAE domestic payment schemes, and ISO 20022 messaging standards.

• Solution Design & Migration: Proven ability to design end-to-end payment solutions, conduct gap assessments, and manage legacy system modernization.

• Oracle Banking Platform Exposure: Hands-on experience with OBP modules, configurations, and enhancements.

• Technical Acumen: Familiarity with Java-based systems, modern UI frameworks (Angular/React), microservices, and DevOps methodologies.

• Delivery & Planning: Experience managing environments, executing migration dry runs, and coordinating go-live and cutover activities.

• Leadership & Communication: Strong collaboration skills, experience facilitating workshops, driving UAT, and securing business approvals.

• Professional Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
